THE 3D-POWER FOR THE 3D-CHRISTIAN! (Part 2)
…The Old Testament temple was of the OUTER COURT, INNER COURT, and the HOLY OF HOLY. 3D!
Each day will never be complete until there had been MORNING, NOON, and NIGHT! 3D!
Have you ever wondered why Samuel had so great a ministry leading the Israelites? The answer is in his calling. He had a 3-Dimensional calling! God called him THRICE! 1 Sam 3:8 (And the LORD called Samuel again the THIRD TIME…).
It might interest you to know that even the devil caught a glimpse of this 3D power that it ensured that its mission is also 3D—to STEAL, to KILL, and to DESTROY! 3D! And Jesus came with a counter mission identifying Himself as the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE! 3D!
Still talking about the devil, when it was going to tempt Jesus, he employed this same 3D power! He tempted Jesus THRICE! (Mat 4:3,5,8). And interestingly, when Jesus was going to pray in the garden of Gethsemane when that same stinky devil was kind of making Him feel like He can’t do the work again, He prayed…THRICE! 3D! (Mat 26:39, 42, 44).
Peter denied Jesus THREE TIMES and when Jesus was going to ask him questions that will re-affirm his faith after resurrection, He asked the same question…THRICE! He was like Peter, do you love me more than this? (John 21:15ff).
The Jewish benediction in the Old Testament is 3-FOLD! Check it out: Numbers 6:24-26 KJV (24) The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: (25) The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: (26) The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
I like how Eugene Peterson puts it in the Message Bible. See: Numbers 6:24-26 MSG (24) GOD bless you and keep you, (25) GOD smile on you and gift you, (26) GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
And interestingly, the Benediction we share in church today is also 3-FOLD! We say: The GRACE OF THE LORD Jesus Christ, and the LOVE OF GOD, and the COMMUNION OF THE HOLY GHOST, [be] with you all. Amen. 3D! (2 Cor 13:14)
See this: With WISDOM a house is built. With UNDERSTANDING it is established. With KNOWLEDGE its rooms are filled with every kind of riches, both precious and pleasant. (Proverbs 24:3-4 GW) 3D!
Look through the Biblical military records and you will see the 3D power splashing through the scriptures!
Thank God for Gideon—the mighty man of valour! He divided his 300-man-army into THREE GROUPS (Judges 7:16). And each person had to himself a PITCHER, a TRUMPET, and a TORCH! 3D! Abimelech used the same tactics in Judges 9:43 (he took the people, and divided them into THREE COMPANIES, and laid wait in the field…). Saul did the same thing—1 Sam 11:11 (Saul put the people in THREE COMPANIES; and they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the Ammonites until the heat of the day). You see it again employed by the Chaldeans in Job 1:17 (The Chaldeans made out THREE BANDS, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away).
The representations go on and on and on…
And then I stumbled on this final one! The more I meditate on it, the more I’m convinced to believe that this is the KEY to becoming a 3D-Christian!
I saw it in Psalms. In one of the Psalms of David—the great king!
One [thing] have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. (Psalms 27:4 KJV)
I think I fell in love with the more romantic way that The Message Bible quotes the same scriptures:
I’m asking GOD for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate his beauty; I’ll study at his feet. (Psalms 27:4 MSG)
